Privacy Policy
Fetchr is a game about photographing dogs you meet. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the controls you have. The short version: your exact locations are never shown to anyone but you, your photos become public dog cards, and you can delete everything from inside the app.
What we collect
- Account. You sign in with Apple. We store the account identifier Apple gives us and, if you choose to share it, your email address. Your public identity in the app is a handle (like @hunter_ab12cd).
- Photos. The dog photos you capture or upload. They become part of the public dog card and gallery.
- Location. When you catch a dog, we record the location of that catch. The exact coordinates are visible only to you (on your private map). Publicly, other players see only a town or neighborhood name (for example "Wakefield, RI, USA") — never a precise location.
- Activity. Likes, follows, blocks, reports, points, and leaderboard standings generated by playing.
How photos are analyzed
When you submit a photo, it is analyzed by an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to identify the dog's breed and generate the card. Photos are sent for this analysis only, and are not used to train AI models.
What's public
Dog cards are community content: the photo, breed, rarity, the dog's name or placeholder name, and its town/neighborhood are visible to other players, along with your handle as the catcher. Exact GPS coordinates are never public.
Services we rely on
Fetchr runs on Supabase (database, storage, and sign-in infrastructure), Anthropic (photo analysis), Mapbox (map display), and Apple (Sign in with Apple). Each receives only what it needs to provide its service. We do not sell your data, and the app contains no third-party advertising or tracking.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app (You tab → gear icon → Delete Account). Deletion removes your photos, catches, likes, follows, profile, and sign-in record. Dogs that other players have also photographed remain in the community with their photos, not yours.
Children
Fetchr is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll note the new effective date here and flag it in the app.
